W VI edycji konkursu SHARPENING THE GREEN PENCIL 2017, zorganizowanego przez Romanian Kukai Group, wzięło udział 275 uczestników z 45 krajów, w tym 12 z Polski. Wszystkie nadesłane utwory, przetłumaczone na język rumuński,  ukazały się w publikacji pokonkursowej. Moje haiku znalazło się wśród 10 wybranych do tej publikacji. 

The 6th edition of  SHARPENING THE GREEN PENCIL 2017 Haiku contest, organized by the Romanian Kukai Group, was attended by 275 participants from 45 countries, including 12 from Poland. All submitted poems, translated into Romanian, appeared in the post-competition publication. My haiku was selected to the 10 selected poems.

SHARPENING THE GREEN PENCIL 2016 RESULTS

The poem does not need kireji since it frames a meaningful story whose meaning skids by itself, unexpectedly, from a practical matter to a symbolical, almost exemplary, result. The characteristic charm and tension of the poem consists in a contextual ellipsis whose hint is only given with its last word. The hard work (done by just one individual or perhaps by us all) turns out to be a kind of escape, release, patient purification of the water which reflects the blue sky. Piece by piece, as a result of our labour, the sky changes the backwater’s colour.
