19 kwietnia, 73 rocznica Powstania w Getcie Warszawskim. 

Żonkile zaczynają kwitnąć w kwietniu - miesiącu powstania i są związane z Markiem Edelmanem, ostatnim dowódcą Żydowskiej Organizacji Bojowej. Każdego roku w rocznicę Powstania w Getcie Warszawskim składał żonkile przy Pomniku Bohaterów Getta. Warszawiacy obecni na ceremonii przypinają sobie papierowe miniatury tych kwiatów. Żółty żonkil stał się symbolem pamięci, szacunku i nadziei.

Daffodils begin to bloom in April - a month of uprising.and are associated with Marek Edelman, the last commander of the Jewish Combat Organization. Every year on the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising he placed daffodils at the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes.Warsaw residents present at the ceremony pin a paper thumbnails of these flowers.
